Our capabilities include:
Tensile Testing (Yield & Ultimate)
Fatigue Testing (S-N & da/dN curves)
Compression Testing
Fracture Testing
CTOD Testing
K1C Testing
J1C Testing
Charpy Impact Testing
Hardness Testing (Rockwell, Macro Vickers, Micro Vickers, & Brinell)
Dynamic Tear Testing
Wear/Abrasivity Testing
Specimen Heat Treatment
Metallographic Analysis
Field Metallographic Replication and Portable Hardness Testing
Boiler Tube Deposit Weight Density (DWD) Analysis
In addition to our extensive testing experience, our in depth knowledge of CSA and ASME codes allow us to customize testing parameters to optimize the range of qualification. This allows procedures to be qualified for a wider range of applications.
To ensure the highest standards are maintained, all testing is performed to international standards (i.e. ASTM and ASME) following the principles and procedures of our Quality Control Manual. Our Quality Assurance Program is designed in accordance with the requirements of ISO Guide 17025: General Requirements for the Accreditation of Calibration and Testing Laboratories.

Customized Mechanical Testing Solutions
Wayland's staff also provides customized testing services for situations where existing procedures are not applicable. This service not only includes developing a unique test procedure but also includes providing the necessary apparatus. In some situations we have been able to modify existing test equipment; for other projects we have designed and manufactured new machines capable of performing the required testing. In both cases, we draw on our experience with control instrumentation and software technologies to design a customized package allowing full computer control of both the machine operation and the subsequent data acquisition.
