Asset Integrity Engineering
With our diverse team including former Owner-Users, our Asset Integrity Engineers can help you audit, review, execute, or implement Asset Integrity Programs and provide specialty Asset Integrity services.
API Inspection Programs Including Risk Based Inspection (RBI)
Having a robust asset integrity program is key to reducing plant wide risk and increasing process safety. Conventional time based inspection programs are effective at reducing risk, but not as effectively as a targeted risk based inspection program. There are multiple options when building (or modifying) your sites asset integrity and inspection programs, each with their own unique advantages and challenges.
Our team has experience implementing and executing inspection programs compliant with API 510 (Pressure Vessels), API 570 (Pressure Piping), and API 580 (Risk Based Inspection) including API 581. We can provide guidance on what type of programs will be most beneficial to your site and build qualitative and semi-quantitative programs that meet your needs.

Special Emphasis Programs (SEPs)
Our Engineers have extensive experience creating, implementing, evergreening, and running SEPs. Some of the programs that we have experience with include:
High Temperature Hydrogen Attack (HTHA) Programs
Retroactive Positive Material Identification (PMI) Programs
Deadleg Programs
Injection and Mix Point Programs
Corrosion Control Documents (CCDs)
Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs)
Wet H2S Programs
Polythionic Acid Stress Corrosion Cracking (PASCC) Programs
Low Silicon Sulfidation
Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI)
Small Bore Piping (SBP)
Wayland Engineering can audit and identify gaps in your existing asset integrity programs, provide recommendations on optimizing these programs, and build custom fit for purpose programs for your site.

Other Asset Integrity Services
We also offer consulting services both onsite and remotely for:
Inspection Planning: With a combination of experience including field inspection, metallurgical and corrosion engineering, repairing and replacing vessels and piping, and project management, we are able to offer a unique perspective when developing inspection plans for our clients by identifying potential concerns early in the planning stages.
Inspection Event Management (Turnarounds and Shutdowns): Our engineers have experience managing inspection driven events including shutdowns, turnarounds, and repairs to equipment made of advanced alloys.
CML Selection: Performing effective inspections is only possible when inspectors know where and how to find the damage mechanisms that could be present. Proper Corrosion Monitoring Location (CML) placement and optimization is essential for this. Wayland Engineering has extensive experience with CML placement and creating guidelines that inspectors can use for CML placement.
Inspection Drawings: Considering the importance of proper CML selection and placement in an inspection program, it us unfortunate how often inspection drawings are overlooked as a contributing factor to poor CML placement. Our engineers have examined the critical role inspection drawings play in an asset integrity program and identified key information and workflow processes required for inspection drawings to contribute to a fully functioning asset integrity program. We can assist with providing inspection drawing standards, evergreening requirements, and audits of existing programs.
Inspection Data Management and Analysis: Inspection data has typically been presented in tabular form, but many sites have begun embracing graphical and statistical analysis of inspection data as this methodology can provide intuitive insights that tabular data simply can't. Wayland Engineering can help your site migrate to graphical and statistical analysis. If you are currently using this approach, we can perform audits to make sure you are using these methods appropriately and offer insights into optimizing these analyses.
API Certified Pressure Vessel and Piping Inspection: We can provide certified API 510, API 570, and API RP 571 certified inspectors with at least 10 years of relevant field and project management experience.
